October Meeting Notes

October 8, 2015 Meeting Notes

Guests were introduced

Secretary’s minutes for September was approved (KS/MT)   Treasurer’s report for September was approved.
(MT/CP). Correspondence was read.

President Erica called for nominations.  Nominations for Mary Pagel for Vice President and Bridget Larson for Treasurer were carried forward from previous meeting.   With no further nominations, motion (PL/KS) to accept ballot. Carried.  A thank you to outgoing officers was extended.
  
By-Law Committee Report -   Sandy B explained changes proposed … In Article IV, Membership: dues were raised to $15/year.   Motion (KS/MT) that dues for existing members be paid by November meeting to correspond with beginning of our new fiscal year.  Carried.   Memberships unpaid by then will be dropped from list; a member would be re-instated by rejoining.  Article V changed standing committees.   A consensus vote was taken to accept changes with copies to be distributed. 
 
Betty S has kits ready and we have sew days set up for Oct. 16 from 9 – 4 and/or 17th from 9 – 4 at Stanton Town Hall.  Fabric totes were sorted and reduced to seven from the previous twelve but need to be taken by someone rather than remain at her home.

Expenses for raffle baskets twice a year to be taken from Guild’s budget (SB/MT), carried; with Program Committee overseeing events.

Retreat correspondence from Oak Forest Center read.  Motion (KS/BL) to approve changing January meal plan to include Thurs supper, Fri brunch & supper, Sat. 3 meals, Sunday brunch. Carried. January 7-10, 2016 has five rooms reserved. April will be 8th-10th with three rooms reserved.  Final cost yet to be determined. 

Show & Tell and Round Tuits were shared.

September 10, 2015 Meeting Notes

Two guests were introduced – Mary and Barb

Secretary’s minutes for July and August were approved (CP,MT;CP,MP)   Treasurer’s reports for July & August were approved (CP,PL;CP,PL)  Correspondence was read.

President Erica distributed note cards to gather opinions/suggestions on ways to bring our meeting attendance up.  To be dropped in box on table as we left.
Jean Krumm reported on caring quilts.  Betty S has kits ready and we have a sew day set up for Oct. 16 from 9 – 4 and/or 17th from 9 – 4 at Stanton Town Hall Located 2245 Cty Rd T (directions next page.)   *** bring all finished blocks to Oct. meeting so Betty has time to assemble them into kits for the sew day.***

Nominations for positions of Vice-Pres. and Treas. were discussed.  Bridget Larson agreed to accept nomination for Treas. and Mary Pagel for Vice Pres.  Elections are at October meeting when additional nominations can be made.    

By-Law Committee Report -   Sandy B explained changes proposed … Vote on each Article at October meeting.   Ideas on scholarships for graduating high school senior from Somerset or New Richmond entering Fibre Arts was tabled pending additional information and funding determination.    

Discussion on membership responsibilities, committee duties and some activities/projects.  Discussion on unfinished survey issues with consideration of raffle basket being twice a year (picnic & Christmas party) and agreement for fees to be charged for some incoming speakers.
