July Meeting Notes

Next Meeting:  August 8, 2013, 7:00pm at St. Lukes Church
Hostesses:  Mary Johnson, Jean Potter, and Mary Simonds
Raffle basket brought to the meeting by Sandy Balcerek and won by Meg Byrom.  Meg will bring the basket for August.
Stashbuster blocks won by Meg Tryba.  Meg will bring fabric for August blocks.
Show and Tell held with many gorgeous quilts.
Minutes Approved.
Treasurers Report approved and seconded.
Thanks you notes read and passed around.

Friday July 12 will be a sewing day at the Stanton Town Hall for the 2014 raffle quilt.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.
New Richmond Education group is asking if we want to be part of the catalog again this year and is asking for a donation.  The guild voted to be included in the catalog with Meg Tryba listed as our contact person.   A $10 donation will be sent.
Challenge quilts are due at the August meeting.  Bring your item in a brown paper bag.  items must be completed to be included in the judging.

 The NR hospital contacted Betty Schmit to see if our quild would be interested in making hats for cancer patients.  Betty handed out patterns to interested member.  Please contact Betty if you did not get a pattern and wish to participate in making hats.
Attached to this email is the quilt show registration form and is due at the August 8th meeting.  You will need one form for each item entered in the show.
Sign up sheets for workers at the quilt show were passed around.  Please sign up at the next meeting if you have not done so yet.  A successful show needs support from everyone. Items are needed for the silent auction.  We also need volunteers to do demo's during the quilt show. Quilting tips will be handed out during the show this year.
Nancy Maki will be doing a demo at the August meeting on hand quilting.

June Meeting Minutes

Hostesses are Nancy Gehrman, Yvonne Green and Kay Rindahl
Our June meeting was our yearly picnic held at Eileen Van Dyke's home.  Thank you Eileen for hosting our picnic!!!
Stash buster fabric brought by Linda Justman. Use any matching fabric to make your 10 1/2 inch unfinished blocks.
Pick up your raffle tickets at the July meeting if you haven't done so yet. 
There will be a sewing day for the 2014 raffle quilt coming up soon.  Date to be announced. 
We need a dozen T-Shirts sold for us to order.  So far we only have 5 people signed up, so we will postpone getting WRPM t-shirts for now.
Betty Schmit suggested holding a sewing day in October to make wheelchair quilts.  Date to be announced.
Show and tell held at the end of our meeting. 
Lots of good food and companionship enjoyed by everyone!
